St Kilda is one of the most popular kiteboarding locations in Victoria. Located in a very central spot, close to Melbournes CBD - St Kilda is a great location for anyone from begginner to advanced. There is plenty of room for launching / landing, with nice flat water behind the St Kilda Pier and lots of open water space to the west.

The predominent wind direction is south - south west during summer months with the prevailing wind blowing anywhere between 10 & 25 knots.

St Kilda is home to a number of kiteboarding schools that operate from West Beach. During summer months St Kilda can become quite busy - it's a great community in St Kilda, but make sure you beaware of other kiters and beach users.
