In less than two weeks kitesurfers from across Australia will descend on Torquay for the annual Kiteboarding Australia Wave Nationals.
We're pumped and excited for an action packed four days of wind, waves and good times in Torquay. The event will be primarily based at Pt Danger. Pt Danger played host to the Global Kitesports Association (GKA) and the Wave Nationals last season (December, 2018). The break is versatile and can accommodate wind from the West to East.
Saturday night the entire kite community and beyond are invited to join us at 4 Pines X Torquay Boardriders. In fact the entire kite community and beyond are invited to come to Torquay, watch and take part in the entire weekend of action.
The event opening ceremony will be at 10am on Friday the 21st of February followed by rider registration and the first possible start not long after (wind dependant). The contest will run over the four days, and we will determine competition times based on localised wind and and wave conditions.
Competitors will receive a complimentary event t-shirt, drink bottle and zinc stick in their riders pack.
Registrations close on the 19th of February and will remain at $80 for adults and $50 for children. Please register as early as possible to ensure we cater sufficiently for the event.
The event is proudly part of the Cabrinha National Wave Series and is supported by the Surf Coast Shire, Sport and Recreation Victoria, North Kiteboarding, Mystic, SHQ Boardsports and Kiteboarding Victoria.
