About Us

 

Kiteboarding has been named one of the fastest growing sports in the world and has recently been approved for the 2024 Paris Olympics. As the peak body for Kiteboarding in Australia, we are responsible for the representation and development of the sport. We focus on the delivery of leadership, governance and best practice safety for our members and the kiteboarding community.

Kiteboarding Australia (KA) is the national member of the International Kiteboarding Association. KA also represent kiteboard racing as the national class in Australian Sailing. Kiteboarding Australia is a Federation consisting of five State and Territory Associations. KA is a not-for-profit organisation governed by a voluntary Board with a mix of elected and appointed Directors.

About you –  Board Member

This is an opportunity for an experienced professional to further enrich their career as an appointed board member of Kiteboarding Australia Limited. You will bring a broad range of Information Technology, Performance Racing and/ or Digital Design experience to the role and can make informed decisions to create positive outcomes for the stakeholders of Kiteboarding Australia. Knowledge of Kiteboarding as a sport will be strongly advantageous to your role, although it is not essential.

You will be an individual that will act in the best interests of the organization, sport and community. Commitment to the organizations strategic direction is a must. Board members should be willing to commit themselves and their time to ensuring the success of the organization.

You will be prepared to attend general board meetings that occur 8 times per year (remote access is viable), the Annual General Meeting and actively participate in committees to help the development of the organization.

Essential

  • Valid Kiteboarding Australia membership

Must possess one or more of the following

  • Information Technology

      ·   App Development and/ or Web Development

      ·   Digital Design

  • High Performance

Has values with Kiteboarding Australia’s Nominations Committee Terms of Reference Director Core Competencies which can be found in our policy documents on the Kiteboarding Australia website.
