The Freestyle Nationals will be kicking off in less than two weeks at Cotton Tree on the Sunshine Coast.

The Maroochy River Mouth is a premier flat water freestyle destination, but also boasts great waves just a short distance away.   So whether you are looking to compete for the National Title or want to get involved in the more fun social aspects of the event, the Freestyle Nationals is a must do in 2021!   

The event boasts a huge prize pool ($7,000 worth of cash and prizes including a Reedin Kite), with live commentary and tunes cranking all weekend, photographers and videographers will be on site to capture all the action and with a host of fun events such as expressions sessions, downwinders and evening dinners there really is something for everyone!

In order to celebrate the Nationals Titles, KA in partnership with North Kiteboarding, our national freestyle series sponsor,  are raffling off two major prizes – a North Pulse 14m w/ bar and lines & a North Atmos board. Tickets to the raffle are available here.

There are two type of event registrations; Freestyle National Entry & a Social Membership.  Details of each can be seen below:

The Freestyle Nationals includes:

• Event entry to your chosen National Titles category;
• An official event merch pack (including an event tee);
• A host of fun social events and evenings;
• Food and beverage discounts throughout the weekend;
• Membership to the Maroochy Surf Life Saving Club; and
• The opportunity to win a trophy or prize and be crown National Champion.

The Social Membership includes:

• Event entry into the expression session;
• An official event merch pack (including an event tee);
• A social downwinder;
• Food and beverage discounts throughout the weekend;
• Membership to the Maroochy Surf Life Saving Club;
• A host of fun social events and evenings;
• The opportunity to win a trophy or prize; and
• A super fun experience/weekend!

 
Eligibility:

• The Kiteboarding Australia Freestyle Nationals are open to Kiteboarding Australia current financial members. You must also be an Australian resident or hold a current long term Australian visa for three or more consecutive years to Compete in the National titles.
• No restrictions apply for the Social membership and we encourage all Kiters of varying abilities to take part in this great event.

The weekend following, The 2021 Kiteboarding Australia Wave Nationals will take place in Torquay. The contest will see some fantastic wave riding on the beaches of Torquay.

We are pleased to have the support of Cabrinha Kiteboarding, The Surf Coast Shire, Sport and Recreation Victoria, North Kiteboarding, Mystic & Kiteboarding Victoria who have supported Kiteboarding Australia to bring the event to Torquay. The Torquay township has many great local accommodation & food locations. In the lead up to the event Kiteboarding Australia will announce a program for evening activities in the town to ensure we will have as much fun off the water as on the water.

In the event of no-wind laydays, Torquay is on the doorstep of the Great Ocean Road. There is a magnitude of other activities to be done including world class surfing, wineries & touring the amazing sights.

On Saturday the 6th we invite you to join us at 4 Pines X Boardriders from 8pm for drinks and food. All welcome for a good night in Torquay!
