Kiteboarding Australia Student Member Program 

- Information for schools and instructors - 

As you are aware there is now a requirement for Kiteboarding Australia schools to request students become 'Student Members' of Kiteboarding Australia to maintain accreditation and insurance.

The program is completely free to students, and our plan is to:

· create more engaged participants in the sport

· learn more about their learning experience and how we can retain more participants within the sport

· assist with the learning process of students through the online learning course

· streamline the KA affiliate program to give more affiliate payments back to schools and help KA increase membership.

A couple of ways your students could access this portal are:

1.  Schools are invited to include this hyperlink (    https://bit.ly/3TmbigY    ) into an online booking confirmation your school may send out when a student books their lesson. This may be via text or email, both are an appropriate medium to request students complete the registration form. 

Example text could include

"Thanks for booking your lessons with (insert school name). We're excited to get you up and riding! Before your lesson please make sure you take a minute to become a student member of Kiteboarding Australia. The registration process is 100% free and this ensures public liability insurance during your lesson, access to online learning resources, subscription to KA's regular newsletter and you'll become part of the kiting community. KA is a non for profit member based organisation that promotes safe participation. Sign up here" 

1. When the student arrives for the lesson an instructor could ask the student to scan QR code scan the link on the attached poster.

From experience with schools who have trialled the program, the hyperlink in the booking form is the most streamline process that requires almost no input from schools on an ongoing basis.
