Junior Freestyle Progression Sessions

Kiteboarding Western Australia will be hosting a series of junior freestyle progression sessions for junior riders under 18 to help them develop the skills and confidence they require to push the limits of their sport. Riders can expect small friendly groups with expert coaching from past national champion, Duotone rider and physiotherapist Daniel Anderson.

What it involves

●    Riding technique
●    Trick analysis
●    Competition preparation and heat planning
●    Health & fitness
●    Conditioning & injury prevention

There are six freestyle coaching sessions planned which will run over a period of approximately two months, wind dependent. Due to the nature of the program, no formal dates will be set however the plan is to begin on Monday 8th February at approximately 4pm and continue each week for the following 5 weeks. If the forecast does not permit the session will be rescheduled to a later day the same week if possible. The sessions do require an extent of flexibility and a WhatsApp group will be created to allow the consistent flow of information and date change if required. As we all know the wind can be fickle at times, especially this season, so please be aware rescheduling could be as late as 1pm/2pm the same day.

The clinic is open to all junior riders aged under 18 that are seriously looking to progress their freestyle tricks. Riders must be a member of KiteboardingWA (KA) and have a minimum standard of riding including: being able to ride upwind, handle most conditions, be comfortable with normal jumping, have no issues with relaunching and able to complete basic tricks. Riders should have a commitment to pushing and developing their riding.

Registration is essential and riders will be provided with a KWA Junior kit to get your stoke going so don't forget to give us your size when signing up! The sessions will be held mostly at Woodman's Point Beach 3. The sessions are a one off signing up fee of $20 and all riders must be current members of KiteboardingWA aka Kiteboarding Australia for insurance purposes.

If you have any further questions in regards to the sessions, please do not hesitate to contact Becky at social@kiteboardingwa.org.au

See you on the water!
