SCORING

King, Queen and Prince/Princess of Big Air Victoria
This year, we are getting closer to aligning to the international Big Air scoring standards as we are growing the discipline across the country and looking to prepare our champions for the world class competitions. We will take into account the height, technicality and variance/style of your tricks. Stay tuned for more details.

Open Category
We will continue working with WOO in our Open category to help us determine the winners. You do not need a WOO to compete and we will be providing the devices and mounts for our competitors in the Open category to use during the event if they do not already have one.

IMPORTANT: You can only register for the King of Big Air category if you received a special invitation from the organisers. If you think you've got what it takes for the King category, send us a request to marketing@kiteboardingaus.com

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What Category should I join?
A: We strongly recommend that all male riders who can jump 15m or higher and/or are capable of sending loops register for the King of Big Air and not the Open category. We strongly recommend that all female riders register for the Queen of Big Air category. All participants can only register for one category.

Q: What happens if there is no wind?
A: We are locking in a number of dates in November for the competition to ensure windy conditions. The competition may be postponed further or a refund of the competition fee will be provided to the participants.

Q: Can people who don't have a WOO compete?
A: Yes, you can compete even if you don't own a WOO device. We have demo devices that we will provide to participants to use during the event. However, please make sure to let us know that you will need a WOO when registering for the event. We encourage people with multiple WOO devices to lend their spare WOOs to their friends.

Q: Are there separate categories for masters/legends/strapless/foil boards
A: No, there are only 3 main categories in this event, however, you are welcome to register in one of them regardless of your age and gear preference.

Q: Can people from other states compete?
A: Yes, the competition is open to everybody. We place a strong focus on community, inclusion, diversity and progression and do not wish to place boundaries on who can join based on their location, gender, age, nationality or other attributes. The more people join and share the stoke, knowledge and skills, the better.

Q: Is there any entertainment after the competition?
Y: Yes, there will be a social event after the presentation at a local venue which is yet to be announced. Stay tuned!
