The level 1 instructor course is a 5 full day course. We are planning an instructor course over two weekends to allow those who work through the week the opportunity to get involved. The course dates will be:
- December 9 (5pm-8pm),
- December 10 (9am-5pm)
- December 11 (8:30am-6:30pm)
- December 17 (8:30am-6:30pm)
- December 18 (8:30am-6:30pm)
An instructor course is an awesome opportunity to learn new skills, open a new career pathway or make yourself more comfortable showing mates how to kite.
The course is fun & interactive, you will get the opportunity to spend time at the beach in real life practical sitautions as well as spend time learning the critical information needed to teach beginner kiteboarders safely.
Enrollment requirements
Riding proficiency is explained and detailed on the pre-entry form, which must be completed and returned directly to the Kiteboarding Australia recognised school hosting the relevant course. Further to this all candidates must also hold:
- A valid powerboating qualification
- A valid Apply First Aid qualification or equivalent
- A valid Kiteboarding Australia Membership
- Shadow teaching (at a Kiteboarding Australia recognized (or approved) school) – let us know if this will be a problem
- Valid Working With Children Check when teaching children
Kiteboarding Australia can put you in touch with centers for training in all of the above. Some of this training may be done after the start of the ITC, if so your pass or otherwise will be dependent on completion of that training. Specific questions on this should be sent through as to your case.
